There are a couple of ways you can travel to Skopelos; either by plane to the neighboring island Skiathos (then you take a ferry to Skopelos) or by bus and ferry to Skopelos. Each year the ferry company and schedules tend to change. The summer ferry schedule comes out very late, typically around April.
Currently we feel it may be easier in the long run to fly from Athens to Skiathos. Even if it means an overnight stay in Skiathos. If you do decide to fly, be sure to book your tickets as early as possible; especially if you are traveling in July or August.
Check the timetable for the boat routes which allows you to book online. Typically the choices to get to Skopelos are traveling through Mantoudi (Kymasi bus station) or Volos (furthest port). The buses that take you to the ports leave from the KTEL Liosion Station: 260, Liosion Street Kato Patisia, Telephone no: (+30) 210 8317109.

Airline tickets to Skiathos can be purchased through Sky Express, Olympic and Aegean Airlines. Keep in mind you will take a ferry once you arrive in Skiathos. The ferry tickets can be purchased in Skiathos once you arrive with the exception of traveling during August. This is high season and we would recommend that you purchase your tickets online prior to your arrival.
